On June 18, the International Campaign to End Gender Discrimination in Nationality Laws was launched in Geneva. According to the campaign website, 27 nations worldwide currently discriminate against women in their nationality laws, which restrict women’s ability to change nationalities or confer nationality statuses onto their children.
This is a human rights violation in many ways: for example, these discriminatory laws can prevent women from accessing essential state services. As Jacqui Hunt, London director of Equality Now, explains, ”For women and their families, if they don’t have nationality they can’t access state healthcare or education, they can’t get government jobs … they are all really vulnerable. The suffering of women and children is really terrible and unnecessary.”

why would they edit so much?

They physically moved her bones. They moved her collar bone lower. I hope stuff like this makes girls realize how ridiculous the media is.

Even the ‘before’ picture is unattainable by most women. To begin with, she’s had her makeup and hair styled by professionals with expensive products. She’s also been given a flattering designer outfit, which is most likely altered to perfectly fit her shape. She has also been photographed in a fancy studio with perfect lighting and camera equipment, by an industry professional.

The fact that they would then go on to photoshop her beyond recognition (they even changed the appearance of her fingers, for crying out loud) just further emphasizes the unattainability of the media’s idea of ‘beauty’.

I am thoroughly disgusted by all this.

and its even worse because you know she hates this shit too

And its even worse because she is a lovely woman exactly as she is.
